A chronological list of my academic and professional activities
- November 2025 - I will be starting a research visit at Translational AI Lab - Amsterdam UMC for 3 months as of November, applying Neurosymbolic knowledge discovery to medical datasets.
- October 2025 - On Sunday, October 26th, I will be presenting our work on Discovering Association Rules in High-Dimensional Small Tabular Data at the ECAI2025 conference workshop ANSyA. See our preprint on arXiv.
- October 2025 - Aerial+ is now published in NeSy 2025 proceedings, Proceedings of Machine Learning Research (PMLR), volume 284.
- September 2025 - Our new paper on "Learning Semantic Association Rules from Internet of Things Data" is now published in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence Journal!
- September 2025 - Our ECAI 2025 workshop paper "Discovering Association Rules in High-Dimensional Small Tabular Data" is now available on arXiv.
- September 2025 - I wrote a trip report for the NeSy 2025 conference.
- September 2025 - New software paper published in the SoftwareX journal, describing PyAerial: Scalable association rule mining from tabular data 🎉!
- September 2025 - I attended the 19th Neurosymbolic Learning and Reasoning Conference (NeSy 2025) to present Aerial+ scalable association rule learner poster.
- August 2025 - Our short paper entitled "Discovering Association Rules in High-Dimensional Small Tabular Data" got accepted at ECAI 2025 workshop on Advanced Neuro-Symbolic Applications 🎉.
- July 2025 - New blog post on scalable neurosymbolic association rule learning is out!
- July 2025 - Our new scalable Neurosymbolic tabular rule learner, Aerial+, got accepted at the Neurosymbolic Learning and Reasoning (NeSy 2025) conference 🎉!
- June 2025 - A new Python package for scalable association rule mining is out: https://github.com/DiTEC-project/pyaerial.
- May 2025 - A new preprint out on scalable association rule mining with a Neurosymbolic method.
- April 2025 - At NWO ICT.Open 2025 (15-16 April), I will be presenting our poster entitled Interpretable Decision-Making in Smart Environments.
- December 2024 - A new preprint (continuation of AE SemRL) entitled Learning Semantic Association Rules from Internet of Things Data is out on arXiv.
- November 2024 - I presented our paper entitled 3K: Knowledge-Enriched Digital Twin Framework at the LongevIoT’24 workshop as part of the ACM IoT 2024 conference.
- October 2024 - Our paper entitled DiTEC: Digital Twin for Evolutionary Changes in Water Distribution Networks is published at the International Symposium on Leveraging Applications of Formal Methods.
- June 2024 - I will be joining the International Semantic Web Research Summer School in Italy.
- March 2024 - A new preprint entitled "AE SemRL: Learning Semantic Association Rules with Autoencoders" is out on arXiv.
- February 2024 - I will be attending the "Masterclass on Data Semantics" seminar organized by SIKS.
- February 2024 - I have published a new blog post entitled Scribbles around the first year as a PhD student.
- January 2024 - I reviewed a submission for the Journal of Machine Learning Research.
- December 2023 - Our "Systematic Literature Review of Ontologies in Digital Twins" is accepted and published in Elsevier`s Future Generation Computer Systems journal!
- November 2023 - I attended the ISWC2023 in Athens.
- October 2023 - I reviewed Master Theses for Amsterdam AI Thesis Award.
- October 2023 - A workshop paper entitled Semantic Association Rule Learning from Time Series Data and Knowledge Graphs is accepted to SemIIM23 workshop as part of the Semantic Web Conference.
- September 2023 - I attended the 19th Reasoning Web Summer School as part of Declarative AI conference in Oslo. Summary.
- August 2023 - A preprint entitled "Ontologies in digital twins: A systematic literature review" is now out on arXiv.
- July 2023 - I reviewed submission(s) for CIKM23.
- February 2023 - Started my PhD at INDElab, University of Amsterdam.
- August 2022 - Graduated from the Technical University of Munich, Computer Science MSc. program.
- October 2020 - Started working at the Bavarian Research Institute for Software Intensive Systems (fortiss), as a research assistant.
- October 2019 - Started my CS MSc. degree at the Technical University of Munich.
- June 2019 - Finished my Computer Engineering BSc. degree at the Yildiz Technical University (YTU), Istanbul
